About ColeWorld & Greg Cole

Greg Cole

Hello, I am Greg Cole – creator and owner of ColeWorld. The focus of ColeWorld is built on two basic principles. First, every Follower of Jesus Christ should be intentional in reaching their maximum potential as a person and a Christian leader. I believe that every Christian is a leader in some way. Leadership, at its basic definition, is influencing and impacting others. If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, then you are called to influence and impact the people in your life – your family, your friends, your neighbors, your work associates, your faith community, etc. Therefore, you are a leader! Second, i believe that everyone should be a life-long learner, striving to become their very best in every aspect of life.

I have created this website with three goals in mind.

  1. To encourage you
First and foremost, I want to encourage you in your life and leadership. Life and ministry can be frustrating, disappointing, and at times downright hard. My hope is that the blog posts not only provide valuable resources and training, but create an interactive community of encouragement.
  2. To provide resources to help you become the best leader possible
In my weekly blog posts I provide principles, ideas, thoughts, and links to other great resources that will help you become better at being the leader that God has called you to be.
  3. To share from my years of life and ministry experience
I have served in a wide variety of ministry leadership situations for over 40 years. I have been married to my wonderful wife for over 46 years. We have two very successful sons (one a pastor and one and engineer), two lovely daughter-in-laws, and four grandchildren. So, I know some things about life and ministry and desire to share with you some of the life and leadership principles that I have found to be effective. If you are interested, my complete bio is below.

So, who is Greg Cole?

Out of college I worked as an engineer for five years before God called me into full-time Christian ministry. Since then I served in full-time ministry roles for almost 40 years and beginning in 2013 have been what most people would call semi-retired. I believe that we should never fully retire – only recycle ourselves into a new season. I have had the blessing of a rich background of local church and denominational ministry experience in the Southern Baptist Convention. I was full-time Associate Professor of Leadership and directed the internship program at Gateway Seminary (formerly Golden Gate Baptist Seminary). I have also served as a director of in two association of churches, as Senior Pastor of a multi-staff church, as a Church Planting Pastor, and as an Associate Pastor.

I have two earned post-bachelor degrees – Master of Religious Education (Midwestern Baptist Seminary) and Doctor of Educational Ministry (New Orleans Baptist Seminary). My doctoral focus was conflict management in supervisory roles. I am also a certified coach through CoachNet Global.

My wife is a retired High School English teacher and taught in the public school system for over 25 years. She currently leads the women’s mentoring program at our church, develops and teaches Bible studies for women, and volunteers with several organizations in our community. We have two married sons, two wonderful daughter-in-laws, and four grandchildren. Our oldest son is a pastor of an SBC church in Colorado. He has a Doctor of Ministry degree from Southern Baptist Seminary. Our younger son has a Masters in Engineering Management from Kansas Univeristy and is a principle and department head in a Civil Engineer company in Fort Worth, TX. We have four grandchildren – two grandsons and two granddaughters. The oldest is 19 and the youngest is 13.
